We have compiled a list of our Frequently Asked Questions to give you some insight into us, our build process and the value of sustainable construction before you begin.

  • What is your service area?
    We primarily work in the western suburbs and Metropolitan Melbourne, but are open to travelling farther afield depending on the project. We have experience of doing commercial projects overstate.
  • What makes your company different to other companies?
    Unlike big building companies, our company’s directors are involved in each project and are face of the Blue Martin Property Services. We are committed to limiting the number of projects we do each year so that we can complete them to our exacting standards, and give our clients the peace-of-mind that we will deliver great results. With larger companies, you run the risk of having multiple (and ever-changing) project managers leaving you with communication issues and a less than productive experience.
  • Does your company offer warranty for the work performed?
    We will finish your project on time and fault free. We will only work with the best tradespeople. Our workmanship is of the highest standard. Each tradesperson has worked with us for many years and holds all current and relevant insurances. We are fully insured with current Construction Works Insurance and Public Liability Insurance. 7-Year Structural Warranty. Open and regular communication to ensure that you are an integral part of the building and renovation process. We use a Fixed Price Master Builders Contract, with no hidden surprises. This ensures your home is built to your budget.
  • Do you offer a free, no obligation quotation?"
    Absolutely! We are more than happy to visit your property at a time convenient for yourself and quote for the required works. If you don’t own the property and are willing us to quote on work for a property you are looking at purchasing, this is chargeable with a fixed cost.
  • Why did I receive such a large difference in prices for our project?
    Our prices are fairly affordable. Although if you do see a large price difference from another company, simple answer is that you received different sets of products and services. Nowhere is the saying “you get what you pay for” more true than in what we do. The lowball guys can be scary to have in your home and their subs can be worse. Another reason is your are comparing “apples to oranges”. Even a detailed set of working drawings and specs may not be identified from one contractor to another. There are truly many ways to adhere to the building code without maintaining the best interest for the customer. We find that most customers are comfortable with true value. We encourage cost planning that best adds the value you deserve.
  • What type of building contract do you use?
    We use standard industry-building contracts provided by either the Housing Industry Association (HIA) or the Master Builders Association (MBA). Cost Plus Contract AS4000 AS4300
  • Can you help us with the project from design to construction?
    Blue Martin Property Services is able to provide all the co-ordination services that goes into a project from design and Development Applications (DA) to full completion of construction project. Having an great project manager assisting with the all of the project adds tremendous value to our services ensuring that you are ease of mind.
  • How is quality managed?
    We have a strict quality control procedure. We carry out checks during construction, and at the completion of every trade and construction stage. You can see some videos of our construction sites on Youtube. Ilyas (the contract administrator) likes a ‘hand-on’ approach, so he is frequently on site overseeing all trades which helps him to identidy any areas of concern early and have it fixed immediately. We encourage our clients to be keen in pointing out any areas of concern during site visits.
  • Can you source all required materials and project manage our required works?
    Yes. The big majority of our works include sourcing all materials, handling all trades and ensuring the project is completed to the highest standard. Our experience has shown that customers who attempt to project manage multiple tradesman and sourcing materials themselves usually turns into a false economy with no savings and increased overall costs. You will have a much better experience contracting a company to complete your project from start to finish.
  • Will I be kept up about the ongoing project?
    Ofcourse! Regular communication is absolutely a must with us and working in partnership with our customers is critical for a smooth process. Secondly, the written schedule is your piece of mind of what to expect on a daily basis. Our construction timelines are our best customer referral assets! We schedule regular site meetings to discuss progress, stages coming up and make changes, if needed.
